The Cleveland Browns are reportedly signing free agent Terrelle Pryor after previously releasing the quarterback/wide receiver ahead of the 2015 season. Pryor came into camp with the Browns as a wideout and he likely will play that position for Cleveland now, but he also could serve as a backup quarterback option after Josh McCown's injury.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns are signing Pryor on Tuesday and it comes after Pryor was reportedly expected to meet with the Chicago Bears. Pryor spent time in training camp with the Browns and played in the preseason, but he dealt with an injury to his hamstring and did not end up getting a spot on the roster. Pryor has had workouts with other teams, but has not been able to catch on with anyone else in the NFL.

Pro Football Talk writes that Pryor likely will stick at wide receiver when he returns to the Browns and he can help the team out with Taylor Gabriel and Andrew Hawkins dealing with concussions. Dwayne Bowe has been a non-factor this season and Pryor could help give the team some explosiveness on offense alongside Travis Benjamin.

Josh McCown reportedly injured his collarbone on Monday and could be out for the season and that could put Pryor in position as an emergency backup option. McCown left the game against the Ravens and was replaced by Austin Davis over Johnny Manziel, as Manziel has been dealing with some off the field issues for the Browns and has been relegated to third string for the time being. If the Browns want to keep Manziel on the sidelines, Pryor could slot in behind Davis as an emergency backup option. Pryor previously had a workout with the Giants and also visited with the San Francisco 49ers.
