The Green Bay Packers are trying to regain momentum in their race for the postseason. A three-game losing streak caused the team to stumble, but Aaron Rodgers and company pulled things together against the Minnesota Vikings and need to keep the momenutm moving in their favor. The Chicago Bears are getting healthy and hopeful they can upset their rivals on Thanksgiving day.
After beating the Vikings, the Packers share a lead in the NFC North and would like to get a firmer grasp on it this weekend. The x-factor for the Packers will be the run game. The Bears defense is giving up plenty of yards on the ground. The let the Broncos rush 170 yards against them in Week 11. Eddie Lacy is back after getting demoted to second string. He put up a 100-yard game in Week 11 to return to form while James Starks paired well with the running back. The Packers want the run game to be successful so they do not need to rely on the quarterback's arm.
Rodgers has been trying to get by with an injured-riddled group of receivers. Randall Cobb, Devante Adams and James Jones are his best options while Ty Montgomery is expected to miss the game with an ankle injury.
The Bears are hoping their supporting cast is back and healthy. Alshon Jeffery will play after sitting out Week 11 with a groin injury. Jeffery will be needed with Eddie Royal still out with a knee injury. Matt Forte is also expected to be back in the mix after missing three games with a knee injury. The biggest question for the Bears is how they will handle the return of Forte with the breakout star of Jeremy Langford who has been the best offensive performers for the Bears. Forte has been averaging 67.8 rushing yards per game while Langford has amassed 170 yards in his last three games. The Bears are getting healthy and might just have the offense to get a needed win over their rivals.
The Bears are not in playoff contention at the moment, but a win over of the Packers would certainly be a nice way for the team to celebrate Thanksgiving. If the defense can stop the run game of the Packers, the Bears stand a chance at the upset.
