The NHL injury report has some notable names heading into the middle of November, as players like Carey Price, Connor McDavid, Duncan Keith, Brad Richards, Zach Parise, Rick Nash, Jonathan Bernier and Ondrej Palat have been banged up. Price was off to a great start for the Montreal Canadiens before getting injured, while Rick Nash was able to return for the Rangers after dealing with an injury.

Rookie star Connor McDavid is out for a lengthy stretch for the Edmonton Oilers, as he suffered a shoulder injury and could be out for "months." Price is not expected to play this week after suffering a lower body injury and the Canadiens are hoping that he can return soon. Pavel Datsyuk has been out to start the season after coming back from ankle surgery, while Zach Parise is dealing with a knee injury and couple be out for a couple more weeks.

Duncan Keith is on his way back after having a knee procedure and could play this weekend, while Nash was able to return after dealing with a back issue. Brad Richards has been sidelined for the Red Wings and he is still not ready to return with a back injury. The Detroit Free Press reports that coach Jeff Blashill said the injury is more than "day-to-day" and that Richards may still need some more time before returning. Richards initially was expected to miss one to two weeks and he has been out since October 21.

Parise is dealing with a lower body injury and he suffered that injury last week for the Wild and now he could be out for the next "few games," according to SI.com. Parise has been strong this season at generating offense for the team and he has been averaging over three shots per game and now he will miss some time. Jonathan Bernier has been out for the Maple Leafs and he has been placed on IR and his return date is unknown for Toronto. James Reimer has taken over for Bernier in net.

The injury to Price is significant, as the Canadiens have been the best team in the NHL and the team is hoping that Price does not need any surgery. According to NHL.com, Price has a lower body injury and will not play this week, but coach Michel Therrien said that the goalie likely will not need surgery at this time. Price is getting treatment and he also got a second opinion for the injury and he could be back practicing next week.

The Blackhawks have been without Duncan Keith since back in mid-October after the defenseman had to have knee surgery, but he could return soon. According to NHL.com, Keith could be back this weekend for the team, as Keith has been cleared for contact in practice and was able to skate without any issues on Tuesday. Keith was expected to miss four to six weeks for the team. Lightning forward Ondrej Palat is out for at least three weeks with a lower body injury, according to NHL.com. Palat reportedly will not need surgery and he suffered the injury on Saturday against the Minnesota Wild.
