The former Dallas Cowboys starting running back was suspended for 4 games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

The Cowboys suspected Randle would get suspended at some point but I don't even think they expected it to be this long. It was speculated Randle could be suspended for marijuana possession however it turns out that was not the primary reason.

Randle was arrested for a domestic dispute in February and the NFL decided to act. Randle was expected to earn a second chance with a running back heavy team however that is now unlikely to happen in 2015.

It was speculated that the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, or Pittsburgh Steelers would be in the market for Randle. The 49ers are in dire need of a talented running back to take some workload out of the hands of a running back committee that has been on the street longer than on the field.

The 49ers have two free agents that were thrown into Sunday's victory against the Atlanta Falcons. Since then Pierre Thomas has been released and Randle was expected to at the very least be an option. Randle will now likely spend the rest of the 2015 season re-assessing  his career.
