Chicago Bears

Jeremy Langford (Running Back): Langford is the feature back in this offense now that Matt Forte is out with injury. Langford is a rookie but this is his chance to prove himself to this new Bronco's coaching staff that he will be the lead back of the offense when they eventually move on from Matt Forte who is about to turn 30. Langford is going up against a San Diego defense that has allowed the 2nd most fantasy points to running backs all season long so he has a great opportunity to make an impact.

Alshon Jeffery (Wide Receiver): Jeffery has gone off on back to back weeks and has seen 10 plus targets each week. He also has gained over 100 yards through the air in both weeks so it will be interesting to see if Jeffery can beat a passing defense that has given up the 7th fewest points to wide receivers. It should be noted that the Chargers have given up 14 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers.

Martellus Bennett (Tight End): The loss of Matt Forte and Eddie Royal should allow Bennett to see more targets however depending on the game flow he has seen 5 to 10 plus targets a game. Some more consistency would be nice however this is not the week to hope for that as San Diego has given up the 16th most fantasy points to tight ends this year.

San Diego Chargers

Philip Rivers (Quarterback): Rivers has been on fire for the past 5 weeks so this matchup is not that scary. What is a bit concerning is the loss of Keenan Allen for the season so Rivers will need to rely on the back up wide receivers. Rivers should be fine considering he has dealt with injuries to his receiving corps all season long. Rivers is a solid QB1 this week.

Melvin Gordon/Danny Woodhead (Running Back): With Branden Oliver done for the season Gordon should see a tremendous bump in carries. Gordon has yet to really face a beatable defense since he has had the extra carries but he gets his chance this week as the Bears allow 4.7 yards per carry to opposing running backs. Woodhead should see some targets in the passing game however the Chargers are likely to be ahead in this contest.

Malcom Floyd/Stevie Johnson (Wide Receivers): This is a big week for Johnson and Floyd as they will battle for the vacant number 1 wide receiver job. Floyd saw the uptick in targets last week however Johnson was returning from injury and could see a bigger role this week. Either player is a solid flex play.
