Stefon Diggs #14 of the Minnesota Vikings breaks free for a 40-yard touchdown reception to tie the game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on November 1, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. The Vikings defeated the Bears 23-20. "

Stefon Diggs missed practice for the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday and there is a chance he could be limited in Week 9 with a hamstring injury. Adrian Peterson was not on the injury report this week and if Diggs is limited, players like Mike Wallace, Charles Johnson and Cordarrelle Patterson could be fantasy starter options.

Diggs tweaked the hamstring against the Bears last week, but it did not force him to miss time and he had another strong game for Minnesota. According to Pro Football Talk, Diggs sat out of practice on Wednesday with the hamstring injury, while Joe Berger, Anthony Barr and Sharrif Floyd also sat out. PFT writes that Diggs dealt with durability issues in college and with hamstrings being a lingering injury sometimes (ie Odell Beckham) the Vikings may want to be cautious with Diggs.

UPDATE: Diggs returned to practice on Thursday.

Diggs has been one of the top surprises in the league this season, as he has put up 25 catches for 419 yards in just four games played. Diggs is averaging over 100 yards per game and he has scored a touchdown in two straight for the Vikings. Diggs has had at least six receptions in every game he has played and he put up seven catches for 129 yards in his second game against the Chiefs. According to Chris Tomasson at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, head coach Mike Zimmer did not think the injury was too serious. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the injury report heading into the weekend before setting their lineups.

Adrian Peterson has had a strong comeback season for the Vikings ad after being listed on the injury report last week, he comes into this week without any reported injuries, according to Pro Football Talk. Peterson had his third 100-yard game of the season against the Bears and he now has 633 rushing yards in seven games. Peterson missed some practice last week with hip, finger and ankle injuries, but he is ready to go without limitations heading into Week 9.

Diggs has truly emerged as the number one receiver for the Vikings over the past stretch of games and if he is limited the team will look more to Mike Wallace. Wallace has had an inconsistent season for the Vikings and he comes into the game with 26 catches for 292 yards in seven games this year. Charles Johnson has dealt with injuries and has not emerged like the Vikings thought he would and he will try and get things going in the second half of the season. Teddy Bridgewater is completing 64 percent of his passes this season, but he has just six touchdowns with five interceptions and he is hoping Diggs is active on Sunday.
