The New York Rangers snapped a losing streak by destroying the San Jose Sharks on Monday night.

The Rangers came into the season hot; looking like this could be the season they take the NHL by storm however it was immediately followed by multiple losses. The Rangers would get back on track during Monday's contest were all phases of their team were running on high.

Now the Rangers are clearly the better team however they needed this win to get some of their mojo back and winning by shut out should give them some much needed momentum going into their Thursday night matchup with the Coyotes.

Marc Staal saw his first goal of the season while Mats Zuccarello added New York's second power play goal of the season. Zuccarello has given this Rangers team their edge back after returning from a brutal concussion that sidelined him for months. Zuccarello has 4 goals so far this season and is one of the primary playmakers for this Rangers squad in 2015.

The Rangers are now boasting a confident 10-2 goal advantage in first periods in the 2015 season. The Rangers had pulled Henrik Lundqvist late in the game and replaced him with Antti Raanta who looked just as sharp as ever in his first action of the 2015 season. Raanta may get some more opportunities to shine against the Coyote's on Thursday night.
