Terrelle Pryor #87 of the Cleveland Browns runs around end against the Chicago Bears during a preseason game at Soldier Field on September 3, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. The Bears defeated the Browns 24-0. "

NFL free agent Terrelle Pryor reportedly worked out for the NY Giants as a wide receiver on Wednesday and it comes after previous workouts with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots. New York is dealing with some injuries with Rueben Randle and Odell Beckham and Pryor could be a solid depth option for Eli Manning.

According to Pro Football Talk, sources reported that Pryor was worked out by the team on Wednesday and he tried out as a wide receiver. Pryor was with the Cleveland Browns in the preseason before getting cut and he was trying to make the team as a wideout after converting from the quarterback position. Pryor was previously the starter for the Raiders and he eventually was cut by the Browns and has had workouts with a number of other teams.

PFT writes that Pryor likely has had a hard time finding a roster spot because he is "not eligible" to be signed to a practice squad and that means he will take up a spot on the main 53-man roster if he is signed. The Giants do need some depth at wide receiver, as Victor Cruz remains out and has no timetable to return, while Randle and Beckham are dealing with hamstring injuries from this week. The Giants have Dwayne Harris, Myles White and Geremy Davis on the roster and those three players spent time on the field against the 49ers on Sunday night.

Randle left the game with a hamstring injury along with Beckham and at one point in the fourth quarter Eli Manning was trying to drive down the field with Harris, White and Davis as his main options. The Giants cut Preston Parker earlier in the season after the wideout had some issues with drops and the team was hoping that Cruz would be back by now. According to Dan Graziano at ESPN, Tom Coughlin said that Cruz has not been cleared to get back on the field yet after dealing with a calf injury and he has no set timetable to return.

Coughlin also said that Odell Beckham did not get into practice on Wednesday, but that he should "get some work in before the end of the week" and that would put him on track to play Monday night. Pryor reportedly has had other workouts with teams, including the Patriots, 49ers, Jets and Seahawks, but none of those teams opted to sign him.

Pryor does not have any really NFL experience at the WR position apart from his time with the Browns in the preseason, but the Giants may be a bit desperate for bodies at this point. The team previously worked out Hakeem Nicks and Wes Welker a couple weeks ago, but did not sign either player. Nicks reportedly worked out for the Patriots this week along with Isaiah Pead and Nick Kasa, according to Pro Football Talk. The Chicago Bears have been dealing with an injury to Alshon Jeffery and they also could be an option for Nicks or Pryor.
