The MLB playoffs have the St. Louis Cardinals leading the Chicago Cubs 1-0 in the NLDS after winning Game 1, while the Texas Rangers are leading the Toronto Blue Jays 2-0 after winning Game 2. The Kansas City Royals evened up the American League Division Series with a win over the Houston Astros and now that series is tied 1-1.

The Rangers and the Blue Jays played 14 innings in Game 2 and Texas ended up winning the marathon and now they have a 2-0 lead in the series. Keone Kela ended up with the win for the Rangers, while LaTroy Hawkins took the loss and Ross Ohlendorf finished off the game with the save. The Rangers were without Adrian Beltre in the game and a number of less notable players stepped up, including Delino DeShields and Hanser Alberto.

Alberto hit the RBI single in the 14th inning to give the Rangers the lead and now they have the advantage in the American League Division Series. The Rangers now head home with two games in hand in the five game series and the Blue Jays now have yet to earn a playoff win in more than two decades. Depending on how things go in the next couple games, the team may not get a win at home this year in the postseason and that would continue that streak. The Jays now will have to win three straight games to win the series.

The Kansas City Royals avoided going down 2-0 in their ALDS series against the Houston Astros and it took a rally to get it done. The Royals won the game 5-4 and now the series is tied 1-1 and the leading run for the team came from Ben Zobrist, who hit a single in the seventh inning. The bullpen came in and helped clean up Johnny Cueto's start and the Royals rallied to get the win.

Kelvin Herrera earned the win and Wade Davis got the save and now the Royals will try and steal back a game in Houston. The Astros were a much better team at home than on the road this season and that made Game 2 a near must-win for the Royals. Dallas Keuchel will be back in action after pitching a shutout to win the wild card game against the Yankees.

The Cardinals took a 1-0 series lead against the Cubs in the first matchup between the two teams in the playoffs. John Lackey got the win against former teammate Jon Lester and rookies Tommy Pham and Stephen Piscotty each hit home runs to help power the Cards to a 4-0 win. The Cubs won over the Pirates to advance from the wild card, but the team could not get anything going against St. Louis.
