The Buffalo Bills are trying to remain optimistic. Already without their star running back with LeSean McCoy hurt, the Bills would love to get Sammy Watkins back into the mix for Week 5 as the receiver continues to sit out of practice. He has been joined by backup running back Karlos Williams, leaving the offense in doubt once again for quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

UPDATE: Williams and LeSean McCoy are out for the game, Watkins is questionable.

According to ESPN's Mike Rodak, both Watkins and Williams were not at practice on Thursday. Rodak reports that Watkins did go through individual drills with the team, but was then taken out after that. Williams was not seen at all. The presence of Watkins despite how brief it was gives the Bills hope that the wide receiver could be active against the Tennessee Titans with his calf injury healing. Williams continues to go through concussion protocol and is doubtful at best to play.

"[Watkin's] getting close," Ryan said, via ESPN.com. "So we'll see how he does, but he's feeling a lot better and it won't be long. I don't know if it will be Sunday or not, but it's not gonna be much longer."

The Bills have had to make some roster moves in order to provide depth for Week 5 should either player be out. The team already announced a contract to Dan Herron. The running back was signed following a workout to Trent Richardson. Herron is not expected to play in Week 5 unless absolutely necessary. The Bills also signed Denarius Moore who was released by the Cincinnati Bengals. The receiver had solid years with the Oakland Raiders in 2011 and 2012, but has since bounced around from team to team. He could actually be a solid pickup for Buffalo moving forward.

For now, the team will rely on Percy Harvin and Boobie Dixon who could be taking over the lead roles of their positions. Harvin continues to get worked more into the offense while Dixon has barely seen the field. Robert Woods and Charles Clay are also available for Taylor to work with. Both Harvin and Woods have dealt with injuries this season, but they are healthy now when it matters as the team waits patiently for updates on Watkins.
