The Oklahoma State Cowboys are running with one of the most efficient offenses in college football at the moment. The team started off Big 12 play in a positive way as they defeated Texans in a 30-27 road game win and look to keep the momentum moving as they prepare to meet Kansas State at home. The biggest x-factor for the team through four games has been quarterback Mason Rudolph who continues to string together positive performances.

Rudolph is thriving at this point in the year. The quarterback went 22 of 34 for 290 yards and touchdown against the Longhorns. The team needed a late field goal to get the win, but Rudolph's numbers place him as one of the best quarterbacks in the league right now. Rudolph is ninth in the nation in passing yards per attempt while also ranking 10th in total yards. He beat out JW Walsh for the starting job as the quarterback did see time on the field in the fourth quarter against Texas. He threw a touchdown pass while running for 27 yards and a score. His versatility could allow him to see the field more times than not.

The biggest issue for the Cowboys heading into Saturday is the status of leading rusher Chris Carson. The running back is dealing with an ankle injury that clearly held him back last week. He accounted for just 39 yards on 12 carries. Carson says that he is healthy and ready to play against the Wildcats who are also undefeated on the year while beating some lesser opponents.

Quarterback Joe Hubener is making his own noise for Kansas State who is averaging 34.3 points per game. This is their first test in Big 12 play after blowing out South Dakota, Texas San-Antonio and Louisiana Tech. Hubener is not putting up huge numbers, but has thrown for 585 yards without an interception. The quarterback is preparing to go up against a stout Oklahoma State defense. The Cowboys are allowing 299.8 yards per game so far this season. They also grabbed seven sacks against Texas which could spell trouble for the Wildcats.
