The Denver Nuggets have signed free agent Mike Miller to a contract as the team opened up training camp and reports have Miller signing a one-year deal. The Nuggets come into the season with Emmanuel Mudiay expected to start, while Kenneth Faried said earlier this summer he is not worried about being mentioned in trade rumors.

According to ESPN.com, the Nuggets have signed Miller to a one-year contract following his release from the Blazers earlier this summer. Miller played a limited role with the Cavaliers before getting traded to Portland this offseason and he comes in after stints with the Grizzlies, Miami Heat and Wizards in the past. Miller averaged just 13 minutes per game in 52 games last season and he could be a three-point specialist off the bench for the Nuggets this season.

The Nuggets are in rebuilding mode after last season and the team has a new point guard for the future in Emmanuel Mudiay. The team made Mudiay a top 10 pick and he has looked impressive in summer league play and likely will start for the Nuggets. According to Matt Moore at CBSSports.com, GM Tim Connelly said that Mudiay will open the season as the starting point guard despite being just 19-years-old. Faried had praise for Mudiay this summer and he said that he has "high expectations" for the rookie guard.

Faried has been mentioned in rumors for a couple years now and at media day he was asked about those reports and said that it doesn't bother him. Faried said that he spoke with head coach Mike Malone and that he is "excited" to get the season started. Faried reportedly will get some playing time at center this season and that could help the Nuggets open things up. Faried is an athletic and versatile player and he is the most talented player that the team has.

Faried saw his numbers dip slightly last season from the previous year, but it was not much of a slip and Faried said he is expecting to be better this season after playing in 75 games last year. Faried averaged 12.6 points per game and nearly nine rebounds and he will once again be the focal point of the front court for the Nuggets. The team signed Danilo Gallinari signed a short extension this offseason and the Nuggets are expecting him to play a big part this season along with Wilson Chandler.

The Nuggets have also reportedly added Matt Janning, Oleksiy Pecherov and Devin Sweetney for their training camp roster. The team has one open spot in camp left on the roster. The team will open the preseason on Friday against the Clippers.
