The Cowboys are still planning on running the ball 30 plus times a game. Joseph Randle looked like the best running back on Sunday getting a ton of carries in comparison to Darren McFadden.

Dallas rushed 23 times against the New York Giants on Sunday night but a large part of that was that they were behind and could not hand the ball of with time being a factor. Joseph Randle saw 16 out of the 23 carries and was more easily used in the passing game as well. Randle also had 3 catches for 42 yards and was the main reason why some of those final drives continued.

Darren McFadden had seven carries and did not show the burst he had in preseason. McFadden's runs were predictable however he was a lot more physical at the point of contact. Lance Dunbar was the primary running back on third down and threw some excellent blocks for Romo.

Dunbar also made himself useful as a wide receiver, it appears the Cowboys have realized how to utilize his body type. When you have a guy who is a Darren Sproles, C.J. Spiller type of rusher he can be even more deadly when utilized in the passing game. Right now the Cowboys get the gritty yards they need to pull out wins however for some of those home run carries Randle needs to be better focused and balanced.
