Minnesota Vikings

Teddy Bridgewater (Quarterback): Bridgewater should have a field day against the depleted 49ers defense. The primary concern would be the score because if it gets to out of hand the Vikings are not going to throw the ball as much. Also the 49ers defensive line is extremely weak so using Adrian Peterson as much as you can might make more sense than heavily utilizing the pass game. Bridgewater should have a great matchup but his points could have a low ceiling depending on how Peterson plays.

Adrian Peterson (Running Back): Peterson will make his return against the 49ers and has an incredible opportunity to make a statement. The soft 49ers defense will allow Peterson to take advantage of an abundance of rushing lanes which should give him a lot of fantasy points in week 1.

Charles Johnson/Mike Wallace (Wide Receiver): Johnson and Wallace should be targeted a handful of times but we likely lose targets to one another. Both of these guys are WR3 with a low WR2 upside for this week.

Kyle Rudolph (Tight End): Rudolph is always a medical risk whenever he is on the field however he could be destined for a big game against an abhorrent 49ers defense. The 49ers can choose to shadow him with Eric Reid which will take Rudolph out of the picture for a large portion of the game.

San Francisco 49ers

Carlos Hyde (Running Back): Hyde did not look good in preseason and that offensive line looked worse. Hyde will also have Jerryd Hayne waiting in the wings and if Hayne has a breakout game that might lead to Hyde being relegated to backup duties. That's a big stretch I know, but power backs like Hyde cannot survive behind that offensive line.

Vernon Davis (Tight End): Everyone should stay away from Davis, if there is anything that is certain it is that he will let you down. Davis will not be in the fantasy picture until we see him with some consistent production.

Colin Kaepernick (Quarterback): Kaepernick is a low level fantasy option in a pinch but he could hardly be trusted.

Torrey Smith/ Anquan Boldin (Wide Receiver): Smith and Boldin will both be the most reliable receivers the 49ers have all year so they should split targets throughout the season. Both Smith and Boldin are low tier WR2s.
