The Seattle Seahawks are hosting Evan Mathis for a free agent visit and he could be an option for the team to add at guard and this comes as Kam Chancellor could continue his holdout into the season, while Russell Wilson likes what he has seen from Tyler Lockett in training camp.

The Seahawks are bringing in Mathis for a visit this week and it comes after the team had some changeover on the offensive line. The Seahawks traded Max Unger for Jimmy Graham and the team also lost James Carpenter to free agency. According to Pro Football Talk, Mathis is coming in for a visit, as he is interested in "playing for a contender" and the Seahawks could be an option. Mathis was released by the Eagles and was set to make over $5 million for this season.

Chancellor has continued to hold out for a new contract this offseason and the safety has stayed away from camp as he hopes for a deal. According to Pro Football Talk, Chancellor reportedly is considering continuing his holdout into the regular season and if that happens, he will lose over $200,000 per week of his salary of $4,550,000 for the season. Chancellor has already lost money for being out of camp, as the team is fining the safety $30,000 per day.

Chancellor signed a five year deal in 2013 that was for neatly $30 million and he will be a free agent in 2018 and is making $5.1 million after this season. Chancellor does not have much leverage, as Earl Thomas is on his way back, although Adam Schefter at ESPN reports that Chancellor is "not close to budging" about his contract.

Mathis previously has had interest from the Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers as well as the Jets, but no deal has gotten close yet. Rand Getlin reported that Mathis could sign "soon" with a team and the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have been in contact with Mathis. The Herald reports that Miami is looking to sign Mathis to a deal near $2 million and that the guard is looking for more than that on the market. Mathis was set to make $5.5 million and he may want at least that much to sign a deal.

The Seahawks don't have too much money to throw around and the team also has to see what happens with the Chancellor deal. The team just signed Russell Wilson to a major extension, kept Marshawn Lynch on an updated deal and also added Jimmy Graham in a trade. Chancellor could be the odd man out in all of this, as the team had Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas as priorities to keep along with Bobby Wagner, who also got an extension this offseason.

Russell Wilson got his money this offseason and he also has some new weapons, as the team added Jimmy Graham in a trade and Tyler Lockett in the draft. NFL.com reports that Pete Carroll has given praise to Lockett this summer and said that he looked "special" in the opening preseason game against the Broncos.
