1. How will La'El Collins do with the first team offense?

Collins will be replacing Ronald Leary due to Leary being banged up and needing an MRI. This will give this position battle some life and the Cowboys will really be able to see if Collins can become a starter right out of the gate.

2. How will Ahmad Brooks respond to taking Aldon Smith's position?

Brooks has always been a talented defender but can he take on the production that Smith left behind? Probably not but it will still be interesting to see the 49ers blitz packages with Brooks, Corey Lemonier, and NaVorro Bowman.

3. Will Lucky Whitehead continue to dominate for the fifth wide receiver position?

Lucky Whitehead has been pretty lucky so far. As camp has gone on no real threats have challenged him for the fifth wide receiver spot. In fact the race has gotten so out of hand that White fumbled in the first preseason game and the Cowboys still gave him reps. Now White needs to get past that mistake to secure this spot.

4. Which running back will take the lead for the 49ers?

Carlos Hyde the incumbent had 2 carries for 6 yards in the preseason opener. Running back Jarryd Hayne, a former rugby player, had 5 carries for 63 yards. Hayne is making the argument that he at least needs to be the second back in the offense. The other two running backs Mike Davis and Kendall Gaskins combined for 5 carries and just 30 yards.

5. Will Randy Gregory and the Cowboy's line be just as dominant as he was in his first preseason game? In the first preseason game the Cowboy's defense did not look like last year's defense. The difference between last season and this one is as evident as it can be. The Cowboys are continually getting pressure on the quarterback and have mixed in some pretty intense blitzing schemes. The front far regardless of who has been in the game have been pretty good, the question is can they keep it up?
