The LA Lakers are looking to add free agent players for training camp and Toure Murry, Eric Moreland, DJ Kennedy, Sean Kilpatrick, Bobby Brown or JaVale McGee could be options as free agents to come in and try to make the roster and this comes as Los Angeles has signed Jonathan Holmes to a training camp deal for the summer.

The Lakers reportedly have been looking to add some depth to fill out the roster and the Los Angeles Times reports that the team currently has 12 guaranteed contracts. The Lakers have three roster spots open heading into the back stretch of the summer and according to Pro Basketball Talk, the team has been "stacking prospects" and they could battle it out to see who makes the team on the final 15-man roster this season.

The Lakers have Robert Upshaw as one option that can compete for a spot on the roster, while free agents like JaVale McGee and Bobby Brown are also reportedly getting looks. According to RealGM, Shams Charania reports that the Lakers have signed forward Jonathan Holmes to a deal. The deal reportedly has a "significant partial" and the undrafted player out of Texas will likely get a chance to compete for a roster spot in camp.

Holmes played for the Celtics summer league team and was impressive and he could be an option to come in and get a chance to make the team. The Lakers are also reportedly the "frontrunners" for JaVale McGee as a free agent. Basketball Insiders reports that McGee has had interest from the Mavericks and Lakers and that LA looks like the favorite.

The Lakers are also set to work out a host of players that could get training camp invites, as Pro Basketball Talk reports that Toure Murry, Eric Moreland, DJ Kennedy, Sean Kilpatrick and Brown all are going to get looks for the Lakers. Marc Stein reported that Browns and Murry were going to get workouts and he later added Kilpatrick to the mix as well. David Pick reported later in the day that Eric Moreland will get a look and he reportedly has been a target for the Miami Heat. The Lakers are also bringing in DJ Kennedy for a workout, according to Pick.

Stein writes that Brown has been playing in China and for Team USA, while Kilpatrick is coming in after playing in the summer league with the Bucks and previously playing in the D-League. The Lakers are holding camp in Hawaii and they could look at bringing multiple names from this group into the mix. The team has Tarik Black and Jabari Brown along with Upshaw in the mix and the workouts could separate some of the players for the Lakers.

Bleacher Report's Jared Zwerling first reported about Brown working out and he comes in after last playing in the NBA in 2010 with the Clippers. The Lakers are looking for some depth at point guard with Jordan Clarkson and D'Angelo Russell both young players. Murry comes in after playing in five games last season for the Wizards and 51 the previous year for the Knicks. Murry averaged 2.7 points for the Knicks in 7.3 minutes per game and could be a fit for LA.
