Rajon Rondo #9 of the Dallas Mavericks talks to DeMarcus Cousins #15 and Rudy Gay #8 of the Sacramento Kings prior to the game on January 13, 2015 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California."

The Sacramento Kings have signed Seth Curry to a free agent contract this summer and the brother of Steph Curry could be a backup option for Rajon Rondo with Darren Collison and this comes as the team could consider a DeMarcus Cousins trade again with the LA Lakers after exchanging a framework at the draft, although a deal is unlikely at this point in the offseason.

The Kings have been an active team this offseason by signing a number of players in free agency and now they have added Curry on a guaranteed deal. The Kings signed Rajon Rondo to be the starter at point guard and the team also added Marco Belinelli, Omri Casspi and Kosta Koufos this offseason to help improve. The team was mentioned quite a bit around the draft in trade rumors regarding DeMarcus Cousins, but right now a deal is not close to happening.

According to Yahoo Sports, Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Kings have reached an agreement with Seth Curry. Woj reports that the deal is for two years and it's a fully guaranteed deal with a player option in the second year. Curry played in the Summer League with the Pelicans and now he is signing with the Kings. Curry has played for a number of teams over his career, jumping around the Cavaliers, Grizzlies and the Suns while also playing in the D-League.

The Kings flirted with a Cousins trade earlier this offseason or at least George Karl did, as the front office was not too pleased that Karl wanted to push for a Cousins trade. The team allowed Cousins' agent to look for a deal and the Sacramento Bee reports that a trade "remains on the table" if Cousins and Karl cannot work out their issues. The Lakers and Celtics showed interest in Cousins and if things go bad in Sacramento again this season, the team could consider making a major deal.

Curry has looked good in the Summer League and he comes in after averaging over 24 points, 4.2 rebounds, three assists and three steals in six games played. While that is a small sample size, Curry played well enough for the Kings to bring him in and now he could be in the mix to be one of the main backups for Rajon Rondo. The guard situation with the Kings is a little crowded with Rondo, Darren Collison, Ben McLemore, Marco Belinelli and James Anderson, but if Curry continues to play well he should get some solid minutes.

Curry played in two games for the Cavs a couple years ago and now he's getting a chance with the Kings. Curry has the chance to play some significant minutes behind Rondo, as Darren Collison is coming off of surgery and could be limited heading through the summer. Collison played in 45 games last season and averaged 16 points and 5.6 assists per game and Sactown Royalty reports he should be ready for the start of the season. Rondo comes in after averaging nine points and eight assists last season and he is looking to bounce back after a tough season split between Dallas and Boston.
