The Stanley Cup finals are live for Game 3 and Game 4 of the NHL playoffs series with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks and this matchup is from the United Center and has the series tied 1-1 and coverage starts at 8 pm ET from the NBC Sports Network and streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website on Monday and Wednesday.
The Lightning and the Blackhawks are now tied 1-1 heading into the matchup on Monday and this comes after the comeback win by Tampa Bay after going down 2-1 in the game. The team saw Tyler Johnson get back on the board and they also got goals from Nikita Kucherov, Cedric Paquette and Jason Garrison and now they have the chance to get back home ice advantage after losing in Game 1.
The team saw Ben Bishop start the game but he had to leave for Andrei Vasilevskiy and now Jon Cooper may have to start him for Game 3. The Lightning were able to get four goals in the game and Corey Crawford had just 20 saves for the Blackhawks and now the series is knotted up heading into the next stretch in Chicago. The Blackhawks got goals from Brent Seabrook and Andrew Shaw and they now will be looking for players like Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane to step up again.
Tyler Johnson comes in leading his team with 13 goals and 22 points, while Kane is tops for the Blackhawks with 20 points and 10 goals with Duncan Keith leading in assists. The Lightning are not as experienced in the finals as the Hawks, but they showed that they can hang with Chicago after scoring two huge goals in the third period and while Bishop had to deal with a mysterious injury, Vasilevskiy was able handle things and keep the lead.
Bishop had 21 saves and while Cooper did not say whether he had an injury or not and that could lead to Vasilevskiy getting more playing time. Garrison scored the game winning goal and he comes in after having a strong series with the Lightning against the Rangers in the conference finals. Seabrook tied the game, but the Lightning were able to hold their composure and they got the winner and now they have the chance to steal back home ice with a win in Chicago.
The team likely will be satisfied leaving Chicago 2-2 and they have a good chance of making that happen. The Lightning have shown that they can almost score at will and with the Blackhawks have so many experienced players, Tampa will have to tamp down and keep them from generating chances. The team is not afraid to play on the road as evidence by their domination of the Rangers at MSG last round.
