As the New York Knicks sift through potential draft pick options, they must decide which position is the best to target with the No. 4 pick before looking to fill the rest of needs in free agency. According to team president Phil Jackson, the idea of getting an elite defender in the draft is appealing, but the Knicks also need a solid point guard. With plenty of options in front of them, is Justise Winslow emerging as the favorite?

According to ESPN New York writer Ian Begley, the Knicks are becoming big fans of Winslow and are confident he could fit easily into the lineup. With New York likely missing out on both Jahlil Okafor and Karl-Antony Towns, Winslow would be a solid option if the Knicks want to target that position. Begley reported the Knicks spot with Winslow at the NBA Draft Combine and walked away impressed.

Winslow comes with highs and lows as ESPN's Chad Ford reports he would be the best wing player in the draft. The forward lacks a midrange shot, but has the size to defend from multiple positions while being a solid rebounder, something the Knicks are in big need of. Jackson wants someone that can be the new Tyson Chandler and while that might not be Winslow, he is a solid option to work into the role.

If the Knicks draft Winslow, will that alter who they target in free agency? According to the New York Daily News, the Knicks have LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Monroe, Marc Gasol and Paul Millsap at the top of their wishlist along with lofty picks like Kevin Love. All of those players will likely command a top-dollar contract. Would it benefit the Knicks to draft Winslow and pay big money for players of the same position?

New York is also in need of a point guard to pair with Langston Galloway as Jose Calderon can expect to be traded. Begley reported the Knicks liked both D'Angelo Russell and Emmanuel Mudiay, but they could also try and pull Goran Dragic or Rajon Rondo while considering trades for Ty Lawson and Brandon Jennings. The team has a lot of options in front of them and Jackson cannot afford to make a mistake regarding the right ones to make moves on.
