The Washington Capitals and NY Rangers are playing Game 7 of the eastern conference semifinals for the NHL playoffs on Wednesday night and the game from Madison Square Garden starts at 7:30 pm ET with the series tied 3-3 and the game is on the NBC Sports Network and streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website as Rick Nash and Alexander Ovechkin try and clinch.

The Rangers come into the game after winning two straight against the Caps after going down 3-1 in the series and they are trying to complete the comeback. The team did the same thing last season against the Penguins and now they are trying to become the first team to do it two years in a row. The Rangers were the top team in the east during the regular season and that is why they have this matchup at home.

The Rangers had been finding it very hard to score against Braden Holtby in the series, but starting in Game 5 they made a comeback at the end, scoring a goal late and winning in overtime. Chris Kreider has been the driving force for the team in this series and his goals over the last two games have been as important as any goals this season. Kreider scored the goal that sent the game to overtime in Game 5 and he also added two huge and also very impressive goals in Game 6.

The Rangers had trouble scoring early in the series and they went a near two game stretch without scoring and now they have hit a spurt. The team has played 13 straight one goal games and they would love to end that streak with a win on Wednesday. Rangers fans know this will not be easy, but Ovechkin has been held scoreless in the past few games and now the Rangers have the chance to end it. Rick Nash ended his drought and he could breakout finally for the Rangers.

The Rangers come into the series after winning over the Penguins in five in the first round, but that rest did not help them against the Caps. The team went down 3-1 and now they have forced Game 7. Henrik Lundqvist has never lost a Game 7 at home and the Rangers have history on their side at MSG, but they still have to go out and win the game. The team won a game 7 on the road last season and now they will need players like Nash and Martin St. Louis to step up when they need it the most.
