Philadelphia Eagles fans are likely scratching their heads as Chip Kelly pulls out another trick from his magic hat. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles are preparing to sign Tim Tebow to a one-year contract, adding to their already crowded quarterback rotation. With this likely putting a trade for Marcus Mariota completely out of reach, who will the Eagles draft in the first round?

The Tebow contract is surprising, but not completely out of nowhere. The Eagles gave the former Jets quarterback a workout earlier in the offseason, but parted ways without a contract in place. At the time it was still believed that Mariota was the favored fourth quarterback to be added to the rotation, but now Philadelphia is bringing on Tebow instead of the Oregon standout. With Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley also on the roster, the Eagles have three former first-round quarterbacks to work with and yet no one is inspiring any confidence into the fan base.

While Tebow is certainly not a total lock to make the final roster, his presence does push trade rumors around Barkley. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles are trying to trade the third-string quarterback at some point this offseason, but so far interest Is not coming in. Any team that misses out on top quarterbacks in the draft could eye a deal for Barkley, but for now he and Tebow will be battling for a roster spot.

So now what do the Eagles do in the first-round of the draft? Kelly seems to be staying true to his stance that the team is not trading up for Mariota, so what need must be met first? According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the Eagles could be favoring a wide receiver in the first round considering they have yet to fill the hole left by Jeremy Maclin. Riley Cooper and Jordan Matthews are not enough of a one-two punch to get the job done meaning the Eagles would be wise to draft a top rookie instead.

Amari Cooper and Kevin White will be off the boards by the time Philadelphia makes a move. That could leave the team with players like DeVante Parker, Phillip Dorsett and Jaelen Strong all of whom have gotten pre-draft meetings in with the Eagles. In order for any of the four quarterbacks to be successful with Philadelphia this season, the team would be very wise to draft a top wide receiver to help move the offense along.
