The San Francisco 49ers need to improve this season after an inconsistent 2014 and they need Colin Kaepernick to be a part of that. Kaepernick did not impress last season, but has been putting in the work to improve. As offseason workouts begin, teammates are expressing their praise in the quarterback while the franchise looks to add more weapons to help him.

According to tight end Vernon Davis, Kaepernick looks much improved heading into offseason workouts. Davis told Marc Sessler of NFL.com, "You guys are in for a treat. He looks like a totally different guy." That will be a welcomed sight for the 49ers who are hoping to jump back into title contention immediately. Anquan Boldin is certainly hoping that is the case and is aware that Kaepernick's improvement is the key to that.

"To be honest with you I think he just has to block out everything else around him, stop listening to what people want, what people have to say about you, stop listening to what people want to see you do and just be yourself," Boldin said, via CSN Bay Area. "I think sometimes when you try to go off the suggestions of other people and try to please other people, you forget who you are and what got you there. I think if he just goes out and (is) himself, he'll be just fine. And that's the thing I try to tell him. 'Go out and be Kap. Don't try to go out and be anybody else because that isn't what got you to this point.' "

The 49ers are hoping to help him out with a top receiving weapon. The team has been eyeing several options including top 10 talent like Amari Cooper and Kevin White. According to ProFootballTalk.com, a trade up for either option is not happening despite reports linking San Francisco to a deal. Instead, the team is still toying with the option of bringing Michael Crabtree back who remains on the open market.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, Crabtree would not prefer to sign with the 49ers, but they might be his only option. The wide receiver turned down a contract from the Miami Dolphins and has not garnered interest from anywhere else. The Oakland Raiders have eyed him, but again offered no contract. If the 49ers do not like their draft options, Crabtree would be the best move.
