The Green Bay Packers are coming off of another strong year and this offseason they may look at adding depth to an already stacked roster, as names like Wes Welker, Zach Miller, Greg Jennings, Rob Housler, James Casey and Hakeem Nicks are still on the market and this comes as the team is looking to add help at tight end and possibly wideout after Jordy Nelson's surgery.

The Packers have depth at the wide receiver position with Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams, but they may want to add more behind those top three. The team has young players Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis, but both are untested and that could lead to the team adding a veteran this offseason. According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Wes Welker could be a target for the Packers, but right now no deal is close.

Earlier in the offseason Pro Football Talk reported that Welker was getting "no buzz" on the market and this is the first team to get connected with Welker. The Packers may not make a move, but the signing would not be a major one and at age 34 he could be a low cost, high upside option for the team. As SB Nation writes, the Packers don't "need" Welker, but adding another receiver isn't the worst idea in the world with Abbrederis coming back from an injury and Nelson getting surgery.

Welker has had a great career, but the past couple years have not been as productive and he had just two touchdowns last season. Welker dealt with concussion issues last year and ended up with 49 catches for 464 yards, which was his lowest output since he was with the Miami Dolphins. Jennings could be an option after spending two years with the Vikings if he comes in at a cheap price and he has had interest from the Miami Dolphins and Jaguars on the market.

The team also has a major need at tight end after releasing Brandon Bostick, as Andrew Quarless and Richard Rodgers are solid players, but nothing special overall. The team could add depth with a free agent option like Zach Miller, James Casey or Jermaine Gresham, but it's more likely the team goes after a player in the draft. Miller was let go by the Seahawks, while Gresham was not re-signed by the Bengals and he could be on the market for a while after getting back surgery.

Casey and Housler are also options on the market and Housler is getting some interest from the Browns, who lost Jordan Cameron to the Dolphins in free agency. Housler was not used much by the Cardinals last season and he could be a cheap option with a high upside.

Rob Demovsky at ESPN writes that Maxx Williams from Minnesota could be a potential option in the draft, as he is the highest rater TE by Walter Football. Williams has good size and strong hands and he could be a pick for the Packers, while players like Clive Walford, Nick O'Leary and Ben Koyack have also gotten attention at the tight end position heading into the draft.
