The Tottenham Spurs and Sheffield United are playing live on the Capital One Cup semifinal schedule on Wednesday and the game from White Hart Lane starts at 2:45 pm ET on beIN Sport for the semifinal first leg in the League Cup competition and the EPL side is looking to get off to a good start at home.

The Spurs come into the game sixth in the Premier League and they have been playing well as of late and they come in after a win against Sunderland. The team advanced in the FA Cup and has the fourth round coming up and now they play in the Capital One Cup. The matchup comes ahead of some tough games on the schedule, as the team hosts Arsenal and travels to Anfield to play Liverpool soon.

Tottenham will be playing without Nabil Bentaleb in the game, but they could get Emmanuel Adebayor in the starting lineup and that could be huge for the team. Sheffield comes in looking to play some spoiler and they could win another game against an EPL foe and that would get the team into the League Cup finals for the first time and that would be very significant.

Sheffield will have defender Chris Basham in the lineup and that could be big, while James Wallace and Ben Davies are not expected to play. Playing at White Hart Lane is always tough and now Sheffield will have to try and overcome that advantage. Tottenham also has a matchup coming with Manchester United and that will be on the road at Old Trafford after the team hosts Swansea City.

The two teams have not met in quite a while since Sheffield was last in the EPL and now the team is looking to get another win here. The Spurs have won the other League cup matches between these two teams and the Spurs come in with wins in 11 of the last 12 League Cup games against the lower division teams. The Spurs could get to the final for the first time in six years and that last one was against Man U and they lost on penalties after winning it the year before.

Sheffield comes in for the first time in over a decade in the semis and they are looking to make the most of it and it could be an upset on Wednesday. The team has done a good job against EPL teams over the last 12 months and the team has already won against West Ham, Southampton and QPR this season and they won two other games last season. The Spurs are on alert and they are looking to get a win here or at least a good start.
