The Washington Redskins have major questions with the future of RG3 and a trade could happen in the future if Jay Gruden stays in DC and moves on from Robert Griffin III and teams like the NY Jets, Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be interested in making a change at quarterback in 2015.

Griffin has been under fire for most of the season from the media and fans, as he has not played up to expectations for the second straight year. Griffin has dealt with two significant injuries since his electric rookie season and now many in Washington wonder if he is the answer for the future. According to the Washington Post, Jason Reid writes that the team has not made the final decision yet, but that Gruden likely is "done" with Griffin as his starting quarterback long term. Reid writes that Gruden went to Colt McCoy and would have stuck with him had he not been injured and now the Redskins have another chance to look at Griffin for the final two games of the season.

There are numerous franchise implications regarding Griffin and his future, as he is set to get over $14 million if his next option is picked up and that decision comes in May of next year. On top of that, if Gruden wants to move on from Griffin or use someone else as the starter, it could cause a major rift if Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen want to keep the QB. Gruden was just hired and making yet another coaching change could set this team back even more.

Griffin could be moved in a trade, but that also has other implications and issues, as the Redskins gave up a huge ransom for RG3 and may not want to deal him for what he is worth right now. The team likely would not get anything close to what they gave up for Griffin, but if they decide he isn't "the guy" should they stick it out just because of that? Gruden will have some say in the decision, but it likely will be up to Dan Snyder and that could create battle lines once again for this franchise.

Adam Schefter at ESPN.com wrote last week that there are a least six teams next season that will likely be making quarterback changes and those teams could be interested in Griffin. The news about Jay Cutler getting benched in Chicago creates and interesting situation, while the Houston Texans could be an option after all the quarterbacks they have had to use this season. The Buccaneers likely will try and draft Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston, but they too could be a possibility and the same goes for the Oakland Raiders, although they like what Derek Carr has done so far.

The Redskins are just 3-11 this season and Griffin has been up and down while coming in and out of the lineup. Griffin has three picks and three TDs on the season and has passed for 1138 yards in seven games. The next two games will give the Redskins the chance to get another look at Griffin and this offseason it will be very interesting to see how they handle things.
