Things are ugly in San Francisco. After the 49ers fell at home to the Seattle Seahawks on Thanksgiving, it was expected that they would bounce back with a game against the Oakland Raiders. However, that was far from the case as Derek Carr rattled off three touchdowns getting the 24-13 win over San Francisco. Now, the 49ers have a lot of questions to answer as everyone continues to refer to the loss as embarrassing and disappointing.

The playoffs are slowly falling out of reach for the 49ers and part of the issue could be the play at quarterback. Kaepernick's stats were not good on Sunday as the passing game was nearly non-existent. The quarterback finished the day going 18 of 33 for 174 yards and two interceptions while getting sacked five times. That comes off the two interceptions he tossed against Seattle and one against the Washington Redskins. While head coach Jim Harbaugh defends his quarterback, will the team look at all options this summer?

There is a very real chance the 49ers will not retain Harbaugh this offseason which means Kaepernick loses someone in his corner. Make no mistake, the contract the quarterback signed means he will be cemented as their starter for years to come. However, that will not stop the team considering adding another body to help with competition and be another asset to work with. According to Grantland.com, the 49ers are a possible destination for either Robert Griffin III or Johnny Manziel.

Yes, it sounds crazy, but a new head coach could aim for some change ups. Grantland references the fact that San Francisco did give up sixth-round draft pick for Blaine Gabbert. The team has the offense that suits both Griffin or Manziel and both players would be a much better backup than Gabbert is. Salary cap restraints make the move impossible, but if things keep up a change will be required.

One player likely on the losing end of the changes will be Frank Gore who has been a non-factor for the better part of the year. The running back had 63 yards total on Sunday and never got into a rhythm with the offense. He notes that this makes it tough being in a contract season.

"It's my last year under contract, and I want to go out and at least get a shot to hold the trophy," Gore said, via ESPN.com. "I'll see how the chips fall, and hopefully other teams help us. I hope it happens.  We'll have to move forward from this one, but it's tough."
