Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri are fighting on Saturday night from the Venetian Macao's Cotai Arena in Macau and things start up after 11 pm ET on HBO as the main event hits the stage for the PPV and it will be for the welterweight title and is streaming online as the best boxer in the world battles once again.
The match is set for 12 rounds and is for Pacquiao's welterweight title at the 144-pound catchweight and Pacquiao comes in as the favorite in the match. Pacquiao is 56-5-2 with 38 KOs and he is now getting the chance to defend his title after he got it back against Tim Bradley. Pacquiao previously lost it and he got it back after that split decision and he won in a unanimous decision in the April rematch against Bradley and now the two fighters will matchup here. Algieri is 20-0 with 8 KOs and he comes in very confident and he had to make the weigh in the second time after missing on the first try.
Pacquiao is the first eight division title holder and he is looking to keep things going in this match after his previous battle with Bradley. Pacquiao would love to snag a knockout, but he has not had one of those in quite some time and now it has been nine fights and it will be tough to do it in this one. Algieri has an advantage in height and reach and that could give him a boost against Pacquiao.
Pacquiao's team thinks that a knockout is possible even with the advantages and Freddie Roach said that Pacquiao would be looking for one. Pacquiao is expected to be aggressive early and that could throw off his opponent and coming up Pacquiao could finally face off against Floyd Mayweather, but no one is holding their breaths. Pacquiao and his speed will be an advantage and that could be the major factor in this matchup.
