Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest are playing live on the Capital One Cup schedule on Wednesday and the match for the Football League Cup third round comes from White Hart Lane as the Spurs try and move along and the game starts up at 2:45 pm ET from beIn Sport online and the Spurs will have a number of changes in the lineup after losing their last match on the Premier League schedule.

The two teams have combined for eight trophies in the competition and that means both sides will be looking to advance and play well through the tournament. Nottingham will be down and they will be without Chris Cohen, Jack Hobbs, Jack Hunt and Andy Reid for the matchup and Roberto Soldado will be in for the Spurs and that is big for the team. Michel Vorm could start for the team in net and this comes after the team lost to West Brom at home and now they have the chance to bounce back at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino did not like how his team looked over the weekend and he said that they are prepared for this match and are looking to play much cleaner. The Spurs have history against Nottingham and it hasn't always been good, as the team has knocked them out of the League Cup the last few times they were matched up together. Tottenham comes in playing much better than the team head to head recently, having now lost in the last four matches across all competitions, winning three and drawing one.

The two sides have not met in quite a while and they played in the FA Cup back in 2005 and that was in the fifth round and Tottenham ended up winning that after a first tie. Tottenham last won the league cup in 2008 and now they have the chance to keep things going and the Spurs have been past the third round of the league cup in eight of the last 10 tries. Tottenham comes into things in the middle of the EPL standings and they are looking to move up when things pick up over the weekend.

Tottenham comes in at ninth and they are just ahead of Hull City, who are also playing on the League Cup schedule. The team is behind West Ham and they have Leicester City ahead of Manchester City and Swansea, while the top four has Arsenal, Aston Villa, Southampton and Chelsea. The Blues lead the league right now and they have the best goal differential in the EPL.
