The team has a nice lead over the Brewers and they are not even next in line with the Pirates also right there, but the Cards have the advantage right now.

The NL wild card standings has the Brewers behind the Pirates for the second spot and they still have the chance to make it in. The team has fallen off hard and right now they have a zero run differential and their second half has been terrible. The team now has the chance to at least challenge for the second spot and they were looking like a guaranteed playoff team not that long ago.
