Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon is the best pickup option in fantasy football if owners have dropped him, as he could be active again if the drug policy changes this season and his status along with Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker could be changed to active if that goes down, as a vote is reportedly coming about changes to the league policy and that would put the two players back in the starting lineup.

Gordon and his suspension look ridiculous with the Ray Rice situation and now the NFL and NFLPA may try and get that fixed as the new agreement comes down. According to ESPN.com, a vote on the new deal was tabled, but there is a chance that Gordon and Welker could be reinstated after an agreement is reached. The two players would have their statuses changed from the PED policy to the drug policy, changing their punishments and likely putting them back on the field. It looks very bad that the NFL gave Rice two games and these players much more.

The NFL is already trying to back track on what they did with Rice and now this could be next, as it's ridiculous what has been happening to Gordon. Last season Gordon was one of the top players in the league and in fantasy football and before his suspension came down, many owners drafted him in the hopes that he would p[lay a bit this season. Some felt a half year suspension was coming and that drafting him would be worth it. Once the year suspension came down, many owners dropped him and now owners with space on their rosters or weak WRs should give him a look.

Welker would be allowed to play immediately if the changes are made and that is due to the fact that it was his first offense. Welker was set to be a major part of the offense this season before the suspension came down and now he could be back in action for Week 2 or Week 3 of the season depending on when the vote goes down for the policy. Welker has also reportedly recovered from his concussion and that is even better new for fantasy owners after his suspension if it's lifted.

Welker comes not the season after making 73 catches for 778 yards and 10 touchdowns last season and he was suspended right before the season started. Gordon would not be eligible to come back right away because his case is different and he is not a first offender, but the NFL would be wise to get this done, as they look ridiculous when looking at Gordon and the Ray Rice situation.

Some fantasy owners may be foolish enough to have dropped Gordon or Welker and that means you should pick them up right away. Even if Gordon is dropped and doesn't end up playing, he is a strong keeper in any league and he showed last season exactly why. Gordon did his work in 14 games and led the league with 1646 yards and he set career highs across the board and the Browns sure could use him back.
