The New York Giants' offense is a cause for concern. Despite only having one game under their belt, the inconsistent play that was a trend in the preseason, but was supposed to stop in the regular season, was extremely present in that loss and now the Giants must determine what went wrong. No one appeared on the same page as New York fell to the Detroit Lions. Eli Manning and the receiving group looked confused with each other and now Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle are speaking out on what went wrong.

Randle is not thrilled with the passing offense of the Giants, noting the team was exposed against the Lions. He was credited with just two catches on three targets. With Odell Beckham Jr out for at least three weeks with a hamstring injury, Randle was expected to be a focal point for Manning and is wondering what there were too many missed opportunities.

"I can only control what I can control," Randle said, via NJ.com. "Just go out there, block and get open and that is what I did tonight. Yeah, definitely. Like I said, there were opportunities there, but like I said, my job is to run the route that is called and get open."

The Giants offense was a bit of a head scratcher considering they were supposed to ramp up the passing attack under their new offensive coordinator, Ben McAdoo. He worked with the Green Bay Packers previously and most were expecting a similar offense, heavy on the passing, low on the rushing. However, it was tight end Larry Donnell that finished with the most targets of anyone with eight on the night.

Cruz says that must change if the Giants offense is going to be productive. The team's leading receiver was targeted all of six times in the loss to the Lions and Cruz says that if this team is going to be successful, Manning needs to feed him the ball.

"I think in order for us to be successful, there needs to be an increased number of targets in my direction," Cruz said, via the New York Daily News. "And in other playmakers' directions. Just like Rueben Randle as well, in my opinion. But that all comes with the continuity, that comes with getting the running game going, that comes with building what we want to build as the game continues."

Manning was under heavy pressure for a good portion of the game, making any kind of passing attack hard to come by. Right now, if fantasy owners are looking to invest in New York, they should target running back Rashad Jennings or Andre Williams going forward.
