The Fantasy Football season is here and in Yahoo Sports leagues for Week 1 some of the best starters for the first lineups of the year include Cam Newton, Michael Floyd, Jimmy Graham, LeSean McCoy and Peyton Manning, as those players all have solid matchups and based on standard Yahoo and PPR scoring, they are projected to have big games this weekend.

Cam Newton is dealing with a rib injury, but all reports have him playing and the Panthers are starting with the Buccaneers, which should be a good matchup for Newton and the offense. Michael Floyd has been talked about like a number one receiver in fantasy this year alongside Larry Fitzgerald and playing against the Chargers on MNF is a solid matchup for him and Carson Palmer.

Jimmy Graham is a start for every game no matter what, but after the way the Falcons defense played last season, he should be a strong player to start in Week 1. The Saints and Falcons go at it and that should make this game an intense one to start the season and with Graham in on a new contract, he should be a big performer. LeSean McCoy is in the same camp as Graham, as he was one of the best fantasy players in the league last season and he is a starter for every game, but he also has a good matchup this week with the Jaguars and he should be running wild in that game.

Floyd is coming into the season after a career year that saw him go for 66 receptions with 1054 yards and five touchdowns and now he has the chance to be a number one receiver, even with Larry Fitzgerald there. Fitz is getting older and while he is still a top performer, Floyd should get the chance to have numbers close to his, as the Cards are one of the most pass-happy teams in the league. Last season Carson Palmer set a career high in passing yards and Floyd could benefit from that system once again.

Cam is a player that can be a true fantasy MVP, as he has the passing skills and the rushing skills to be a top ranked player. Newton is dealing with an injury, so fantasy owners with a solid backup QB could make a move, but for owners with Cam as their best option, go with him. Even though he is banked up, all signs point to him starting and he comes in after another strong year, passing for 24 touchdowns and 3379 yards.

McCoy has the chance to be great once again and even with Darren Sproles coming in, expect him to have numbers in line with what he did last season. Chip Kelly is an offensive genius and he will be looking to use Sproles and McCoy quite a bit. Last season McCoy was fantastic with 1607 rushing yards and 52 catches for 539 yards and he also scored a combined 11 touchdowns. The Eagles are expected to be great once again and now he has the chance to be a top three player in fantasy.
