MLB Standings 2014 Playoffs: AL and NL Division Leaders and Wild Card Records August 8

The MLB Standings for 2014 heading towards the playoffs has the AL and NL division leaders in the LA Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals, while the wild cards in the American League and National League has the Los Angeles Angels, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants.

The division standings have the Orioles in first in the AL East, while the Tigers are tops in the AL Central and the Athletics are holding a lead over the Angels in the west. The National League has the Nationals on top of the east, while the Brewers lead the central and the Dodgers are tops out west.

The wild card standings in both leagues are getting very close and now the American League has the Royals in the second spot after hopping over the Jays. The Angels are firmly in the first spot and now Toronto, the NY Yankees and Seattle Mariners are all tied and within a game for the second spot. The teams are all battling and now every game is important and the end of the season could be wild as this shakes out.

The National League is also tight and the Cardinals are leading the Giants for now and the Pirates are right there and the Reds are three back for now.
