The United States and Germany World Cup score is live and can be followed from ESPN online as the Group G matches go from Brazil and it has Ghana and Portugal matching up as well and the teams are playing to see who will be into the knockout stages and this is a huge game for USA and they need a win or a draw in their game to guarantee their spot.

The United States and Germany are playing one of the biggest and most anticipated matchups at the World Cup 2014 and this game is crucial for both teams to advance to the knockout stage and they each could get to the round of sixteen with a draw here. A loss for either side is not an elimination result, as the Portugal and Ghana results could send the teams in depending on if it's a win or draw for either side and in how many goals are scored for the teams in the game.

The United States really should be in the knockout round already, but the referee let stoppage time go way too long against Portugal and that allowed the team to score a goal to get the draw with team USA. The Americans were not given much of a chance to get out of the group stage since Group G was considered the draw of death, but instead the team has played very well and they have had to do it without their most important player in Jozy Altidore, who was injured early in the Ghana game. Clint Dempsey and Graham Zusi have stepped up big and now the team has a very good chance to advance. Dempsey has scored in both games and Zusi helped set up the two lead grabbing goals in the first two matches.

The United States deserves to be through and the German side remains one of the favorites in the entire tournament and that makes the next game even tougher for team USA. Coach Jurgen Klinsmann played for Germany and coached the team and that adds even more intrigue to the matchup. Portugal and Ghana will be playing at the same time and there is a chance that the knockout round for the group will not be sorted out until both matches are over. Ronaldo had the killer cross against the United States to keep his team alive and now they have to win against Ghana by a number of goals and also hope for a USA win and that gives the Americans an advantage.

The second half against Portugal was very well played and the US struck back with a fantastic goal from Jermaine Jones, who took a shot from outside the penalty area that he put right past the goalie, freezing him in place. The second goal in the half was even better from Graham Zusi and he has shown why he is important for the team and now they have the chance to advance for the second straight World Cup. The team made it through last time before losing to Ghana and now they have a chance to advance again and this comes after a draw against Portugal and that came at the very last second on a play from Ronaldo.
