Wimbledon 2014 is the next major on the ATP Tour and WTA tennis schedule and the Grand Slam stars up on June 23 from the All England Club and coming into the tournament Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova are the winners of the last major after winning championships at the French Open at Roland Garros and along with those two, players like defending champion Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will be watched closely on the grass courts.

Nadal often has trouble adjusting back to the grass court season so quickly after finishing on clay and that appears to be happening again after the schedule moved quickly to grass after the French Open. This year on the schedule there are only a couple weeks in between and Nadal fell out of the Gerry Weber Open in the second round and now he needs to get himself prepared and ready for the grass. Last year he lost early at Wimbledon, but part of the reason for that and for this loss is that he puts so much into Roland Garros and clearly he has the results to show that.

Nadal won over Djokovic at the French Open for his ninth title this year and this comes after he won that last year and he also won the US Open again after things turned to the hard courts. Nadal fell in straight sets to wild card Dustin Brown and afterwards he lamented not getting to work on his serve enough and he was not worried about Wimbledon and getting things right before the tournament starts.

Roger Federer comes in looking to try and get to the finals after missing out on all the Grand Slam finals and he has some momentum after winning the Gerry Weber Open and he continues to look strong on grass as usual. Federer obviously has a long and successful career on grass and he now has won this tournament seven times and comes in looking to win his eighth Wimbledon, but it will be very tough with Djokovic, Nadal and Murray lurking.
