The Oakland Raiders are coming into the season with expectations of improvement and a trade for Andre Johnson could be possible over the summer into training camp, as the team needs some more depth at wide receiver and with the Houston Texans possibly upgrading at quarterback, Matt McGloin could be a potential option for Bill O'Brien over rookie tom Savage after their time together at Penn State.

The Texans and Patriots were rumored about a deal for Ryan Mallett, but the Pats feel more comfortable keeping Mallett with Jimmy Garoppolo coming in. The Raiders have a similar situation with Derek Carr and while they are likely to keep McGloin, ESPN.com writer Field Yates writes that O'Brien could pull the trigger on a deal if he doesn't like what he sees from Savage and Ryan Fitzpatrick. The team is likely keeping Fitz since he has guaranteed money coming his way, meaning Case Keenum and TJ Yates could be in danger since the team drafted Savage and wants to develop him.

Johnson is an amazingly productive receiver and right now he is away from the team and has not showed up to team activities. Johnson was frustrated about last season and how the team went 2-14 and now he wonders if Houston is where he should be. Last year Johnson had 109 catches for 1,407 yards and five touchdowns and now he could be on his way out. ESPN.com reports that he has not demanded a trade, but staying away during team activities with a new head coach is not the best way to go about things.

Last season the Raiders went 4-12 on the year and now they are looking to bounce back from that after adding a ton of free agents in the offseason. The team added Justin Tuck and James Jones among many other names, including Lamarr Woodley to replace LaMarr Houston and the team also made a big move by drafting Khalil Mack. The team has had the same record in each of the last two seasons and jobs could be on the line this year. Dennis Allen is a good head coach, but he hasn't had enough talent to win over the past couple years, but he appears to have an improved team now.

The Raiders traded for Matt Schaub in the offseason and while he is coming in as the starter, the team also added Derek Carr in the draft and that is one reason why McGloin could go. The Raiders like McGloin as the backup and he played well enough to start six games last season, but clearly Carr and Schaub are the options for the team this year and beyond. The Texans lost 14 straight games last season and are looking to rebound and the Raiders were not much better and now both are hoping to at least have winning seasons in 2014.
