The Montreal Canadiens won a crazy game over the NY Rangers by the score of 7-4 for a 3-2 series in the eastern conference finals and in the game Henrik Lundqvist was pulled and Cam Talbot came in after he allowed four goals on 18 shots and now the Habs are back into things heading into Game 6 at MSG after Max Pacioretty and Rene Bourque led the way.

The Rangers came into the game with a 3-1 lead after winning Game 4 in overtime and that was a hard fought game on both sides and it saw the Rangers emerge victorious after losing the previous game in overtime. Henrik Lundqvist has been fantastic in the playoffs for the Rangers and he is looking to add to his resume, as he has an Olympic gold medal with Sweden and a Vezina trophy to his name, but he has not yet played for a Stanley Cup. Carl Hagelin is his fellow Swede and he helped win Game 4, scoring the first goal shorthanded before setting Martin St. Louis up with a perfect pass in overtime to get the winning goal.

The difference between a 2-2 series and a 3-2 series is immense and it was Martin St. Louis who scored the winning goal on Dustin Tokarski, going top shelf on his glove side after the goalie shut him down from that side earlier in the game. St. Louis has been the emotional force for the Rangers with his mother passing away and he had points in six straight games and has been great in the postseason since coming over in a trade for Ryan Callahan at the deadline with the Lightning.

St. Louis did not get off to the best start with the Rangers after the trade went down, as he didn't score a goal for some time, but the fans don't care anymore now that he is leading the team in the playoffs. St. Louis scored the first goal in Montreal, which is where he is from and where his mother died and now he has the chance to get the Rangers into the Cup for the first time in 20 years. Winning Game 4 put the Rangers closer than they have been since 1994, as they last made the conference finals in 2011 and 1997, but did not get a 3 to anything advantage in either of those series.

The Rangers played seven against the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round and that was a very physical series and after winning in Game 7 they advanced to play the very tough Penguins. Pitt was the second seed in the east and after winning Game 1, the Rangers dropped three straight and looked terrible on offense and special teams. No one really thought they could pull it out, but they fought their own history and ended up coming back from a 3-1 deficit to get into the eastern conference finals and that gave the team enough momentum to win the first two games in Montreal in stunning fashion and that is how they went out to their 3-1 lead.
