The Montreal Canadiens and NY Rangers are playing on the NHL playoffs schedule on Thursday night in Game 3 of the eastern conference finals and the game starts at 8 pm ET and it's on TV from the NBC Sports Network and live streaming from the Live Extra website at Madison Square Garden and New York comes in with a 2-0 lead in the series.

The Rangers come into the game after winning the first two games of the series in Montreal and that was big for a team that has not played very well at the Bell Centre over the past couple years. Henrik Lundqvist has been fantastic for the Rangers and that is one reason why the team is up 2-0 in the series. The offense has finally started to come through after some heavy struggles against the Penguins and now the team has won five games in a row since coming back from 3-1 down against Pittsburgh.

Lundqvist stopped 40 shots in Game 2 and the Rangers continued to dominate on the defensive end, allowing just one goal and that was the first of the game. The Rangers quickly tied the game after the goal, as Ryan McDonagh scored from near the blue line just 17 seconds after the first score and that took all the excitement and noise out of the Bell Centre and the Rangers were able to keep the Canadiens down the rest of the way and won 3-1. The Rangers have gotten some amazing play from the goalie position and Carey Price is now out for the series for Montreal and that is a huge loss for the team and while some players thought Chris Kreider's play was dirty, he said there was no bad intent on the play when he crashed into the goal.

The Canadiens opted for Dustin Tokarski for Price and they will go that way again and he could be the last hope for the team, as Montreal basically would be done if they went down 3-0 in the series. McDonagh has been fantastic in the series early on and has had points in both games and Lundqvist was able to stop a barrage of shots with a six on four advantage near the end of the game and the winning goal ended up being the one from Rick Nash, which was his second in two games after not scoring a goal in the playoffs before this series.

The Rangers had lost 13 straight games when leading a playoffs series when they won against the Canadiens and they snapped that streak and are now up 2-0 in the series and they have done it mostly without Derek Brassard, who was knocked out in Game 1. The team had to mix and match with lines in both games and the decisions from Alain Vigneault have worked out beautifully, as Dominic Moore assisted on two goals after Brassard was injured and Kreider has continued to make plays, including scoring an important goal. The Rangers now have the chance to go up three games in the series and all they need to do is take care of business at home and with the way Lundqvist is playing in net, the team has a good chance of doing so.
