McIlroy is looking to get things going ahead of the US Open and he has the chance to move up the rankings with Tiger Woods sidelined and right now there is no set return date for the golfer. The two were together since 2011 and had been an active couple on social media and last year they both struggled in their respective games, with McIlroy losing his number one ranking last year and Wozniacki falling in the tennis rankings. McIlroy won major two years ago, but last year he struggled all year and he has been playing better now as he heads into the tournament, but he has not won one since those. He won his first one at the 2011 U.S. Open and then he won the the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island and while Wozniacki was also once the top ranked player in her respective sport like McIlroy was in his, she has yet to win a major.

Jimenez comes in after winning the Spanish Open in a playoff and he won for the 21st time in his career on the tour and his second time after winning in December this season. Jimenez has been an ageless wonder at times and now the young stud in McIlroy will try to match what Jimenez was able to do last weekend.
