The Eastern Conference Finals NHL Playoffs Schedule for the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens series starts in Canada on Saturday and the game is live on TV and streaming online from NBC as the postseason continues and now there are just two teams left in the east and it's an Original Six matchup between the two and comes 20 years after the Rangers last won the Stanley Cup.

The Rangers come into the series against the Canadiens after defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins in seven games and that came after the team rallied from a 3-1 deficit. The team had never came back from a 3-1 series fall to win in the history of the franchise and now NY is feeling good ahead of the next round against Montreal, who has home ice advantage in this series after finishing ahead of New York in the standings by four points.

The Canadiens played less games than the Rangers in the playoffs, as the Rangers had to play 14 after going through two seven game series against the Penguins and the Flyers. Montreal ended up beating the Lightning in the first round with a sweep and that came before they played a seven game series against the Bruins that ended with a 3-1 victory. The Rangers have been getting some amazing play from Henrik Lundqvist in the playoffs and he has been the key for the team, especially in Game 7 after stopping so many good chances for the Penguins.

The Rangers finished four points behind the Canadiens in the standings and they come from two different divisions, with NY beating the Pens and the Flyers to get here, while Montreal won over Tampa Bay and Boston. The Bruins were the top team in the NHL this season and now they are done, while the Rangers were second in their division and the Canadiens were third behind the Lightning and the Bruins. Carey Price has played very well this postseason and he will be a force for the Rangers to get by and this matchup has great goalies on both sides.
