NHL Playoffs Standings 2014: NY Rangers Win Game 7 Against Pittsburgh Penguins To Advance To Eastern Conference Finals

The New York Rangers celebrate after defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins in game seven of the second round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs at the CONSOL Energy Center. The Rangers won the game 2-1 and took the series 4 games to 3."

The New York Rangers won over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 7 of the eastern conference semifinals and the team now advances to the next round and they will play against the Montreal Canadiens of the Boston Bruins after they play the final game of their series and now NY moves on after taking things 4-3 after goals from Brian Boyle and Brad Richards to get the win by a 2-1 score.

The Rangers scored the first goal of the game and that came after a beautiful play from Boyle and after the Penguins tied things up after a rebound off Henrik Lundqvist, Brad Richards scored a power play goal to get the 2-1 victory. The Rangers came back from a 3-1 deficit in the series and Lundqvist was fantastic, making 35 saves in the game and he also was able to hold off a barrage of Penguins shots at the end of the game.

The Rangers held the Penguins scoreless in the third period and while the Rangers only had 20 shots on Marc Andre-Fleury, they were able to get two into the net and that pushed the team into the next round. The team will now wait to see if the Bruins or Canadiens advance to the next round.
