The NFL draft is now into day 2 for the 2014 event and ESPN and NFL.com have put together new mock drafts for the second and third rounds and some of the best players on the board that could get picked include Carlos Hyde, Derek Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo, Louis Nix, Marqise Lee, Xavier Su'a-Filo, Timmy Jernigan, Cyrus Kouandjio, Tom Savage and AJ McCarron.

The offensive side of the ball has a number of names that could be in the mix for teams and ahead of the ones mentioned, some of the best on the board are at wide receiver and running back, with players like Allen Robinson, Tre Mason, Jeremy Hill, Andre Williams and Bishop Sankey still available to be picked. The first round saw some surprises and it was mostly a straight draft without any big shockers, even with Johnny Manziel falling.

Jadeveon Clowney was the number one pick in the draft and that was an expected move and now the Houston Texans have the chance to start the second round with a splash as well. There is a chance that the team would have picked Teddy Bridgewater with the number 33 pick in the round, but he is now with the Vikings after they jumped into the first round to get him and the team may end up avoiding Derek Carr just because of the whole David Carr thing and that means Carlos Hyde, AJ McCarron and Tom Savage could be in the mix.

Carr should be gone by Day 2 and so should some of the other QBs, as Mel Kiper expects there to be a run on the quarterbacks in the second and third rounds after Bridgewater was selected, making it three in the first round. Jernigan dropped after his combine test came up and that could lead to him getting picked by the Bears or the Cowboys in the next round. Jace Amaro could go early in the second round, as he is one of the most athletic players left on the board and he is coming off of a record setting year as a TE with Texas Tech. Eric Ebron was taken in the top 10 and now Amaro could be the next player at the position to go.

The running back position is very deep and if the players don't start going in the second round, they could start moving in the third round. Carlos Hyde is likely the first back to go, while names like Andre Williams, Tre Mason, De'Anthony Thomas and Bishop Sankey could go. Lee could be the first receiver off the board in the second round and he is coming off of a solid year after finishing as a Heisman finalist the year before that. Hyde comes in after rushing for 1,500 yards last season with Ohio State, while Williams and Mason were very productive, putting up over 2,000 yards and 1,800 yards respectively and Mason had 23 TDs for Auburn.
