The Penguins defeated the Rangers 2-0 and now lead the series 2-1. "

The New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins are playing on the NHL: playoffs schedule on Wednesday night and the Game 4 matchup of their postseason hockey series picks up at Madison Square Garden at 7:30 pm ET and will be streaming online from TV on the NBC Sports Network Live Extra website and this could be crippling for the team if they lose with the way the Rangers are scoring, while Sidney Crosby finally found his scoring touch.

The Rangers have been struggling hard to score goals and after getting the winner in Game 1 in overtime, the team has not scored again and Marc-Andre Fleury put up back to back shutouts for the first time in his career. The team needs to get going on offense and on the power play, where they have now not scored in 30 chances and those two issues are the main reason why the team is down 2-1 heading into this game. The Rangers have always had trouble scoring, but with names like Rick Nash, Brad Richards and Martin St. Louis on the roster, the team is expecting more.

The Rangers played a seven game series against the Flyers and then had to play six games in nine days and the last two were back to back and that makes the rest in between this game and the last one even more crucial for the team. The Rangers could risk not coming back to MSG if they can't lock up this game and now they are hoping to break through in game 4 to even the series up. The team won in overtime against the Penguins after Derek Brassard scored the winning goal, but the team has not been able to score since and while Henrik Lundqvist has played well, no hockey team can win a game without scoring goals.

Sid the Kid broke his little streak as well with a goal on Monday night and now the Rangers will try and keep him at bay as well and that could be a major challenge now that he finally has broken that off. The Rangers were one of the best penalty killing teams in the league this season and they will need that on Wednesday, especially with the way their own power play is operating right now. Once the Rangers break that streak the floodgates could open up and they need to get things back to 2-2 rather than going down 3-1, as that will be too much to overcome a team as good as the Penguins.

Henrik Lundqvist has gone 5-5 in the playoffs so far and his GAA has been very solid, but the team needs to score more for him, especially Rick Nash, who is leading NY in shots on goal but he has yet to come through in this series and neither has Brad Richards. The team needs more offense from those players and while Richards is leading in points, he has to set up more in front of the net. The Penguins have a deep team and Jussi Jokinen leads the way in scoring in the playoffs so far, while Paul Martin is tops in assists and Evgeni Malkin is first on points.
