NHL Playoffs Standings 2014: Montreal Canadiens Win Over Boston Bruins For 2-1 East Series Lead

The Montreal Canadiens won over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night 4-2 and the team now has a 2-1 series lead in their eastern conference NHL playoffs series after 26 saves from Carey Price and another goal from PK Subban and now they have control in the matchup with the defending east champions.

Price outdueled Tuukka Rask and the Canadiens prevailed despite goals from Jarome Iginla and Patrice Bergeron and now Montreal has the lead heading into Game 4 and that will be on Thursday night. The Bruins won four straight games in their previous series before losing Game 1, while the Canadiens have now won six of seven playoff games this year.

The NHL playoffs standings and schedule for 2014 continues on Tuesday with the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens playing Game 3 of their second round series, while the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild come in with the Hawks leading 2-0 and the TV schedule picks up on the NBC Sports Network and CNBC with the games on at 7:30 pm ET and 10 pm ET.

The Blackhawks won game two against the Wild with a score of 4-1 and they are now up 2-0 and have won six games in a row after taking four straight against the Blues. The Blackhawks went down 2-0 in that series before storing back and now they have Corey Crawford playing very well and the team has all the momentum in the series as things shift to Minnesota on Tuesday. Crawford had 18 saves on Sunday and now the team comes in as the late game at 9 pm ET.

The Rangers and Penguins have been playing a brutal schedule and NY had to play more games in a span of six days than anyone in 25 years and now they are down 2-1 in the series to Pittsburgh after losing Game 3 at home. The Rangers and Penguins play again on Wednesday and that is the only game on the schedule, while Thursday has the Boston Bruins and Canadiens playing Game 4 of their series. The Kings and the Ducks are playing Game 3 on Thursday night and that will be the late game on the postseason schedule.
