The Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers are playing live on the NHL schedule on Sunday afternoon and the eastern conference game is an NBC matchup and as the hockey season heads to the playoffs both teams are looking to stay in position with a win and the defending east champs have once again been one of the best teams in the league and the game starts up at 12:30 pm and streaming on the Live Extra website at the Wells Fargo Center.

Boston is coming into the game after winning against the Washington Capitals and they have 108 points this season and are first in their division and they are matching up with a Flyers team that is battling and they have 85 points on the season. The Bruins have over 50 wins again and they come into the matchup as the third ranked scoring team in the league with over three goals per game and they have been the most consistent in net, holding opponents to just two goals per game and that ranks first in the NHL. The team is ranked in the top 10 in both penalty kill and power play percentage and their special teams units have been some of the best in the league this season and that is one reason they are in first place in the division once again.

Center David Krejci is leading the team in points this season and Jarome Iginla is tops in goals and they are looking to get the number one seed and they have been the best team with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the east this year. The Flyers come into the game after a win against the Toronto Maple Leafs and they next will play against the St. Louis Blues and they are in the top 10 in scoring and they are allowing nearly three goals per game and they are ninth in power play percentage and fifth in the NHL in penalty kill percentage. Flyers center Claude Giroux has been the best player this season for the team and he is leading in points, goals and assists this year.

The Bruins have played so well that they have already clinched the division and are in the playoffs and they have been playing extremely well over the past games, going 14-0-1 and they are the favorites to come out of the east. Boston has been consistent on offense and a loss for the Flyers would be a tough hit and they have played very well on the road, going 13-4-1 there over the past 18 games and Iginla has been playing very well and they are now right behind the Rangers in the Metro division.
