Florida Gulf Coast and Florida State are matching up in the NIT Tournament first round and the game for the Seminoles and FGCU will be starting up at 7 pm on ESPN2 and the game is streaming live from WatchESPN from the Donald L Tucker Center and both will be looking to advance into the next round.

Florida State comes into the game after a loss to the Virginia Cavaliers and that was in the ACC tournament and the Cavs won that and now are a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament, while FSU now has the chance to come in as a number one seed in the NIT. The Seminoles had a solid season in the ACC and finished 9-9 and they went 19-13 overall this season and they are averaging 70 points per game and are shooting 46 percent from the field and that has them ranked in the top 65 of the nation and now they look to defeat an in-state team that had a magical run in the tournament last year.

The Seminoles finished behind North Carolina State and Clemson, who are also in the NIT, while Pittsburgh finished behind North Carolina, Duke, Syracuse and Virginia and now those teams will get the chance to show what they are made of in March Madness. The number one seeds in the NIT have Florida State along with Minnesota and St. John's with Florida State and now the Seminoles have to face off against the Eagles and Dunk City.

FGCU comes in after losing to Mercer and now they have the chance to pull an upset in the first round against Florida State. The team comes in averaging 72 points per game this season and they are 81st in rebounding and in the top 50 in field goal percentage and their offense will be key for the team on Tuesday night. The defense has been solid with under 70 points allowed per game and the team is ranked 15th in the nation in rebounding on defense and they are allowing under 30 per game and that will be a main focus for FSU.

The team had won three straight before losing to Mercer and before that the team had done the same and now FGCU and Florida State will matchup on Tuesday. The NCAA tournament officially begins with the first four on Tuesday and Wednesday and after that on Thursday the actual tournament will begin and that should make for some exciting college basketball with teams like Florida and Syracuse in action.
