The NHL trade deadline is coming and rumors are starting to come out more and more and goalies Cam Ward and Martin Brodeur are available and teams like the Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, Washington Capitals, Vancouver Canucks and St. Louis Blues could be options for a deal.

The Hurricanes are looking to trade one of their three goalies and Ward is likely the best option, as he will be targeted by teams that may not have enough to deal for Ryan Miller or someone else. According to CBS Sports, the Hurricanes are shopping Ward as well as backups Anton Khudobin and Justin Peters and all of those players could be options for teams that have not performed will in net this year.

Ward has been with the team for some time and he won the Stanley Cup with the team and took home the Conn Smythe trophy and while he looks to be back to form, he played in just 17 games last season and has been injured this year as well. Ward is 30 and has plenty of years ahead of him and with a $6.3 million cap hit, he could be tough to move. Ward doesn't have the best stats, but that isn't totally his fault this season, as he has put up a .893 save percentage in 20 appearances and he has been over 3.00 in his GAA.

The Ryan Miller move by the Sabres could give the Canes a harder time of moving Ward, as teams could be in on Miller more than their star, but that also could be flipped for either player. The Islanders have the worst collective save percentage in the league and other teams in the bottom half includes the Philadelphia Flyers, Red Wings, Washington Capitals and Vancouver Canucks and while the Blues are not, they still could be in the mix for a goalie and they reportedly have looked into Miller.

The Blues have been the best team in their division for most of the year right along with the Blackhawks and they have been one of the best in the league this season overall. The team is looking to make a deep playoff run and they could add Miller or Ward or another goalie to give some strength to that part of the team. The Blues don't need much, but this could be a last push for them, while the Blackhawks could also be in the mix, as they could use a more experienced backup for Corey Crawford.
