The New York Giants have their first game of the year on the schedule, as they will play on August 3 in the Hall of Fame game against the Buffalo Bills in Canton as players for the two teams get inducted into the HOF, with Michael Strahan and Andre Reed having been voted in.

The Giants are gearing up for a big season after missing the playoffs for the second straight year and they have a new offensive coordinator and new outlook with Eli Manning and their schedule should be much easier this season than last, as their combined opponents win percentage is sixth-worst in the league at .465 next season.

According to ESPN.com, the team is playing in the game for the fourth time after participating in 1972, 1985 and 2002, while the Bills have played in 1974, 1989 and 2009 and gives each team five preseason games total and they can also start training camp earlier than other teams.

The Giants schedule in 2014 includes home games against the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, and away games against the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans.
