Gold medalist Shaun White
Gold medalist Shaun White of the United States competes during his second run in the men's snowboarding in Aspen for the Winter X Games and three years ago he also competed in the halfpipe on Cypress Mountain at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, February 17, 2013. "

The Winter X Games in Aspen are live on TV and fans can watch on ESPN and the WatchESPN website on Sunday with the men's snowboard SuperPipe final medal event at the end and the afternoon has the ski SlopeStyle Final and that will be the early competition, while there will be more medal events in the Snowmobile SnoCross finals, as well as the Women's Ski SlopeStyle final and the Snowmobile SnoCross medal run and it all starts at 2 pm.

The most anticipated event of the X Games in the winter is always the snowboard finals and that will be on Sunday night to wrap up the event from Aspen and then all eyes will be on the Winter Olympics, which is why stars like Shaun White did not come to the games this season. ESPN will carry the live coverage for the snowboard superpipe finals and it will also be streaming live on WatchESPN. White will be the headline star at the Olympics for the US and Kelly Clark did her part on Saturday, setting a record for women at the games with a fourth straight Snowboard SuperPipe win and her 12th medal overall and she did it with a number of tough tricks on her run.

Gretchen Bleiler is from Aspen and she was an early star and she announced her retirement earlier in the week and took part in her last X Games and the attendance for the events has continued to rise for ESPN. After last year's tough loss of Caleb Moore there were some injuries that were serious, including Canadian star Mark McMorris, who fell and broke his rib during the snowboard slopestyle final and it comes as he is looking like one of the top riders for the Sochi Winter Olympics in the slopestyle event. McMorris said there wouldn't be a problem with his trip to Sochi and he was the 2012 and 2013 gold medal winner in the slopestyle and now he ended up with a silver medal and should be able to recover in time for the Olympics.

Riders like McMorris and White will be getting attention for the extreme sports in Sochi and White was one of the stars in Vancouver last time around and with all the controversy this year with the Olympics, it should be even more interesting. Max Parrot won over McMorris for a gold medal and took the Snowboard Slopestyle and Big Air this time around at the X Games and that should give him some momentum heading into the first ever event at the Olympics in Sochi. The Winter X Games has been a great launching board for some of the athletes this year and it has been a good warmup for the games.
